Audit the MTA!
This letter is in response to the passage of the MTA bailout. We believe that a full accounting of the MTA is in order.
Recent articles from publications such as the Daily News lead us to believe that we cannot wait until 2009 that it is essential to audit the books immediately.
In light of past failures by the MTA, the taxpayers, non-profit organizations, hospitals and schools who are being asked to foot the bill for this unaffordable measure deserve to know if the figures being provided by the agency are unrealistic.
Respectfully, we request that the Speaker of the State Assembly use his authority along with the Temporary President of the Senate to convene an independent, forensic audit into the MTA.
Please join members of the State Assembly and Senate from both sids of the aisle by signing this letter calling for a forensic audit of the Metropolitan Transit Authority.

In addition, the only industry named in the bill to subsidize to the MTA, the NYC Taxi industry, also deserves to know.
