"No Felony" Law for Public Transportation Companies

  • by: Frank P

Currently, in Arizona, there are no meaningful rules to protect the elderly, disabled and school children from being transported by persons who have Felony Convictions on their records.

This means that our children, Grandparents, and others who are transported by Non-Emergency Medical Transportation companies could very well be being transported by felons with convictions such as drug abuse, child molestations, assault, battery and other serious criminal histories.

While some companies do check the felony history of their employees/potential employees, others do not.

We, the signers of this petition hereby request that legislation be enacted which would require one hundred percent (100%) of the employees, including Management and any "Independent Contractors" be screened for Felony Convictions at the City, State and Federal levels. Those with Felony Convictions would be banned from this type of employment.

We feel that that such a law would prevent certain type of crime and would reduce the threat to our children and our disabled and elderly.

Please act to ensure such a law in enacted in the State of Arizone.
