DISCARDED: Families Face Ruin as Thousands of Veterans Get DOWNSIZED...
Thank you for taking time to hear our story. We are finding that so many American's have no clue what is currently being done to almost 3,000 Sailors that have each devoted 7-15 years of their lives to this country.
To make up the costs of serious financial mismanagement in the Navy, honorable Sailors are being booted out with No retirement and No benefits for them or their families.
I personally am the wife of a Sailor that has served 15 years. I know the sacrifices my family has made so that he can protect this country without having to worry about what is happening back home. I have comforted my crying children by trying to explain to them that what Daddy is doing is very important to our country.
I'm begging everyone to give a moment of your time to let them know America does NOT feel this is how we treat the Families of those who have sacrificed so much.

The US Navy created an Enlisted Retention Board (ERB) in response to military downsizing. ERB reviewed service records of 15,386 sailors in "overmanned" rates with 7-15 years served and made the decision to involuntarily separate 2,947 of them despite faithful and honorable service. These sailors request only the respect they deserve by having their service contracts honored and upheld by the government.
Before involuntarily separating sailors, the Navy should: ask for volunteers who want to separate with a severance package; stop recruiting new sailors; and let sailors cross-rate before breaching contracts with mid-career sailors.The severance package for the sailors is based on time served and doesn't include the remaining contract. At the very least, let them complete the remainder of their contracts and retire so they can receive the benefits they have earned. We, the undersigned, believe that these sailors and their families should be afforded better consideration and treatment than the downsizing plan that the Navy presently intends to impose. There are better options.
Without your endorsement, these veterans and their families face ruin. They deserve better, they have faithfully earned it. Please stand with us and do what is right. Thank you for your help and for honoring these veterans and their families through your support.
