Lift the ban shielding drug companies from lawsuits for vaccine-related injuries or deaths

It is estimated that every year, one hundred twenty thousand to over one million children in America and around the world are severely injured or killed by vaccines. This has to stop.

Dear Speaker of the House and Senate Majority Leader,

Do you think that consumers harmed by a corporation's products should be able to hold those corporations accountable in a fair and just court? Are you aware that Congress has given carte blanche to a certain industry - they can manufacture an entire class of products - and do! - without fear of real punishment when their products harm ordinary people? Wouldn't you like to know who they are so you can join the growing voice of those injured and dead who are demanding safety for consumers?

Americans have a right to know they are consuming safe products. American courts compensate injured consumers and hold corporations accountable for the harm caused by their products. The courts also force manufacturers to remove dangerous goods from the marketplace and make changes that create safer products, even when government regulations and corporate goodwill have been unable or unwilling to do so.

There are many products that have been improved to the benefit of consumer safety. Those products include, but are not limited to, automobiles, prescription drugs, home appliances, cribs, toys and many more. The only product missing on a long list is VACCINES.

Vaccines are administered to the most valuable and vulnerable in our society: children. It is estimated that 120,000 to 1.2 million children are impacted by vaccine related adverse events annually. Vaccine related adverse events include, seizures, fainting, brain damage, crib death, etc. Doctors and public health officials, anxious to persuade themselves and the public that vaccine risks are minimal, use the remarkably unscientific argument that it is all a “coincidence” when something bad happens to a child after vaccination – the vaccine is never, ever to blame.

It is the fear of legal consequences that keep manufacturers ‘on their toes’ to ensure products are safe. Without the threat of legal consequences vaccine manufacturers have no incentives to ensure the highest possible quality of their products and no consequences to fear when children get injured or die from vaccines.

We therefore demand that the ban shielding drug companies from lawsuits for vaccine injuries be overturned to ensure safety and well-being of our children.
