Stop the Easter sale of baby animals!

Every year baby rabbits, ducks, and chicks are dyed with food coloring or sold on the sides of roads, in feed stores, and other locations as a sign of spring and Christian Rebirth.

In a matter of days or weeks, most of these animals die from abuse, neglect, or ignorance. Baby rabbits are sold at 4 weeks of age and die from the wrong nutition. Ducklings and chicks that do not die from dyeing process are thrown into neighborhood retention ponds or in parks where they are killed by family pets or wildlife. Most of the chicks are roosters that become a nuisance to the pet owner.

Religious organizations need to put a stop to buying these animals as a sign religious rebirth. They must educate their parishoners that this is not a an acceptable way to celebrate Easter.

A rabbit, duck, or chicken, if well cared for, can live well beyond 10 years. Most are NOT allowed in subdivisions. Please stop this ridiculous ritual!
