Demand that Ecotricity perform the required maintenance to make the Electric Highway fit for purpose

The Electric Highway charging network is deteriorating rapidly. Many locations have faulty units and in some cases all units within a location do not function. This issue can persist for months at a time leaving drivers of purely electric vehicles to live with the persistent risk of becoming stranded.

Ecotricity hold the monopoly over motorway service stations which are probably the most critical chargers in the country. Having such a monopoly comes with the moral obligation to either offer a reliable service which encourages mass adoption of electric cars, or to step aside and make room for someone who will.

Through this petition we insist that Ecotricity must publish publicly the status of their chargers and the steps being taken to bring them back into service.
