Boeing and others constantly threaten to leave this state in order to get more and more tax breaks. Yet, they pay NO Federal Taxes. We should fine any corporation which threatens to leave in order to get tax breaks. It is blackmail, and we, the tax payers pay for it.
Wall Mart and other hugely profitable corporations deliberatly underpay their employees so that taxpayers will pay to make up the difference with food stamps and other poverty programs. Why should they get way with underpaying workers. Raise the minimum wage to $15 an hour, with no exemptions for number of hours worked or for tips
We need a law that fines any corporation, including Boeing, for attempting to blackmail this state's taxpayers into yet more taxbreaks by threatening to leave the state. They use our resources, and need to pay taxes along with everyone else.
Corporations that intentionally underpay employees, like Walmart, so they need food stamps and other poverty programs to survive. They need to be paid enough to live on. A $15 per hour, no matter how many or few hours a person works, with no carveouts for tips and benefits is needed to protect taxpayers from corporate greed.
