Don't Let CBS And FCC Silence Colbert!

When Stephen Colbert interviewed Texas state Rep. (and US Senate candidate) James Talarico, he did what late-night satire has always done: challenge power, give voice to those fighting back, and wrap it all in a wonderfully delicious layer of humor.

But CBS ordered him to pull the segment. Why?  Because it might run afoul of Trump's FCC, which has no problem censoring content, especially from Trump's political opponents.  And with Talrico running for US Senate, and mounting a strong campaign, it was clear they didn't want him exposed to a national audience.

And CBS caved, and told Colbert he couldn't have Talrico on, and couldn't even talk about this (which he of course proceeded to do as soon as he started the show).

Let's be clear about what is happening here. Trump and his lackeys are using government power to silence the voices of both critics and political opponents.  And CBS caved with barely a whimper.

This does not end well.  And we need to demand they halt right now.

Add your name, and tell CBS and the FCC: "Don't Silence Stephen Colbert, and Hands off Our Freedom!"
