To avoid COVID-19 manufacturing "disruptions," Apple and Samsung are forcing their factory workers to live in tents rather than give them vaccines

Are you tired of working from home during the pandemic in order to ensure your health and safety? What about a different alternative — living at work? That's what's happening to hundreds of thousands of factory workers in Vietnam... all so they can keep churning out the latest iPhones and Samsung devices for you and I to buy, without the virus getting in the way of production.

Sign the petition to demand that Apple, Luxshare, and Samsung actually value their factory workers' health by giving everyone vaccines!

Workers at Vietnam-based Apple, Samsung, Luxshare plants and more have been told that, in order to not "disrupt" these corporations' oh-so-very important supply chains, it's imperative they not spread the virus causing COVID-19 at work. Fair enough. The companies have, at the very least, set up regular weekly testing. However, these and other companies' answers to this public health problem did not include supplying all their factory laborers with vaccines — an imperative way to demonstrate care for their workers.

Instead, head honchos negotiated with Vietnamese officials to get permission for something else: setting up cement-floor tents in the huge hallways of their factory buildings. Photos show glass-walled architecture filled with rows upon rows of tents, set up like a military-style encampment. This is where workers are now supposed to live. At work. They get up from their little enclosures in the morning, go to work, and come right back to their tents — all within the "convenient" confines of their undisruptable jobs.

And they've told workers to suck it up and get used to it.

This clearly goes to show that Apple, Samsung, Luxshare, and other tech and electronics firms do not care at all about their workers' health. They care about money, producing goods, and "efficiency." Yet Samsung still has the gall to state on its website that its mission includes a "promise to perform responsibly" by setting "a high value on its people." If Big Tech companies were really so concerned about these hard-working and now interned folks catching the virus, they would actually put their safety first — by getting them all vaccinated. Then they can really keep living their lives and see their families more easily.

Tell Apple's CEO Tim Cook, Luxshare President Wang Laichun, and Samsung CEOs Kim Hyun Suk, Koh Dong Jin, and Kim Ki Nam to treat their workers like human beings. No one should have to live in a tent on concrete floors at work. Give them COVID-19 vaccines as protection instead!
