Google and Credit Card Companies Are Caving to the Trump Administration, Helping Him Target Everyday People

Remember when Google's motto was "Don't Be Evil?" Now, it's living by the opposite standard - by caving to requests from the Trump administration to either turn over user data, or shut down accounts entirely. And it's not the only corporation to prove it will choose the Trump administration over its customers - Amazon and major credit card companies have also been betraying their customers.

Sign the petition to demand that Google, Amazon, and credit card companies stop helping the Trump administration as it targets everyday civilians!

Take the example of two judges on the International Criminal Court (ICC), based in The Hague. Kimberly Prost and Luz del Carmen Ibáñez Carranza are from Canada and Peru, respectively. They have made careers out of protecting human rights, assessing cases of potential war crimes, crimes against humanity, and genocide.

But Trump, apparently, feels threatened by this. He actually imposed sanctions on both of the judges, as if they were criminals or terrorists! Now, they're finding themselves suddenly blocked from the ability to make purchases, access their online data, and navigate 21st century life. That's because major tech and banking companies - specifically, Google, Amazon, and even credit card companies - simply rolled over and agreed to shut off all their accounts. They're even extending the 'punishments' to include the judges' family members.

In another case, a journalist attended a protest at Columbia University for around 5 minutes, back in 2024. That was enough to not only wind up banned from the campus grounds - but also to be targeted by the Trump administration. The Department of Homeland Security requested that Google hand over a huge swath of information about the journalist, Amandla Thomas-Johnson. Several months later, Google contacted the journalist to know that it had already complied, meaning that the Trump government now knew pretty much everything about him - including his bank account and credit card numbers. Thomas-Johnson didn't even get the chance to fight the subpoena.

And then there's Jon, a retired man in Pennsylvania. He wrote an email to a government official expressing his polite, diplomatic disagreement with Trump government policies. Only five hours later, Google informed him that the Department of Homeland Security had submitted a subpoena requesting his data. And then, a few weeks later, federal agents showed up at his house to investigate.

Trump's people are trying to make life impossible for anyone it disagrees with - and corporations are rolling over and agreeing to help in that mission. Cases are piling up, but the main theme is consistent: major corporations are caving to the Trump administration and, in the process, abandoning everyday people. They should be resisting, and refusing to be manipulated like this.

No one should have to fear being under surveillance in this way, or being punished by being cut-off from vital tools we all need in the 21st century! Sign the petition to send a message to Google, Amazon, and credit card companies - Shame on you! Do the right thing and choose the people over the authoritarian U.S. government!
