Stop Euthanizing Adoptable Animals In Shelters

Target:
animal lovers, dog and cat owners, animal rights activists
Sponsored by:
Please sign this petition to stop the killing of adoptable animals in shelters.  We are asking that every county in every state stop euthanizing adoptable animals in shelters.  Every day there are thousands of animals that are dragged into gas chambers, stuck with heart sticks or euthanized by leathal injection.  There are approximately 5 million dogs and puppies and many more millions of cats and kittens that are needlessly put to death every year in this country alone.  America needs new and relatively obvious  laws-- such as laws making it mandatory to spay and neuter every adopted pet and outlawing puppymill breeding.  These two changes would drastically reduce the huge numbers of animals being taken in to the shelters annually.  Most people care deeply for their pets and for animals in general, but they are unaware of how many are put to death--some by horrifically inhumane means every day.  Please sign this petition to end the currently legal and inhumane killing of these loving animals--they are counting on us to save them!  Thank you for caring and signing this petition.

• Many feel that the use of animals in brain research projects is ethical and justifiable because of the possible benefits to human kind, I beg to differ. It’s cruel, ruthless, and morally wrong. Why should we value an animal’s life any less then our own? Would we want to test on child orphans, who have been abandoned, mistreated, and emotionally scarred just like these animals have been? No, of course we wouldn’t; they haven’t done anything to deserve such harsh punishment. NO ONE has the right to take someone else’s life away. People argue that euthanizing is ok because it can advance mankind, but what about the animal’s futures? They don’t have a voice, it is up too us to give them a better life. If every time we were presented with any problem, from over population to lack of medicines, and we just resorted to murder the world would be lifeless. This situation should be treated carefully and with as much thought as any situation regarding the lives of humans would be.

Make a difference in your community by realizing the impact of life. Animals deserve the right to be alive and killing them is a form of torture that no living thing should ever endure. I understand its hard to put yourself in the shoes of an animal in one of these cages but they are like murderers living life sentences only to be gased except these animals never committed any crime besides being alive.

Mandatory spay/neuter laws should be enacted to reduce homeless animal populations. Animals should not be euthanized if they are healthy or easily treated for illness. Animals are more than capable to live on there own. Spay/neuter and release. It's inhumane to take a companion animal's life. Animals are living beings, just like humans. They deserve the right to life.

I have a dog myself. If I had not gotten him he most likely would have been killed and I can't imagine life without him. Please sign this petition and tell as many people as you can to do the same. God bless.

There should be a law making the places rotate and give every pet at least a couple days to be adopted before just killing them. What the hell is with that. We are full up so we are just going to put these animals you can't afford to sleep.

I feel there is a special place for every dog or animal created. It may take time for one to find that place but I know there is a home out there for all. I see no reason ro euthanize the great number of pets that are put down daily in this country.

It's senseless and barbaric to put our animals to death. They should be able to enjoy their little lives, for, after all, their lives are far too short, for all the love, goodness and companionship they give to us!
