Stop the Barbaric Treatment of Pheasants.

Every year in Britain, 35 million pheasants are bred in appalling conditions to be used as feathered targets, they are raised in overcrowded conditions which requires them to have cruel screens fitted into their beaks to prevent them pecking each other, or the ends of their beaks are sliced off with a hot wire, which can also remove their tongue.

They are released onto a holding site until they are shot, during this time the gamekeepers kill any wildlife which may be a threat to them, so as to maximise profits, hardly any are eaten, and around half die from cold, starvation, predation and road accidents.

There is no justification for this practice, just because the royal family participates in it, does not make it right, it is pure cruelty.
