In a completely inexplicable and nihilistically stupid decision, Florida’s MAGA Surgeon General has announced that the state will be dropping mandatory vaccination and immunization requirements for kids attending public schools.

“Every last one of them is wrong and drips with disdain and slavery. Who am I to tell you what your child should put in their body? I don’t have that right. Your body is a gift from God,” said State Surgeon General and dangerous moron Joseph Ladapo.

We’re already seeing the deadly results of parents choosing not to vaccinate their children. Measles, a dangerous disease that was once considered extinct in the United States, is back with a vengeance. It’s already killed three children this year and sickened over a thousand. More diseases will spread, more people will die, all because Republicans don’t believe in science and would rather push conspiracy theories.

“He has just seriously crippled his ability to get on top of epidemics should they occur. And given that attitude, I have no doubt they will occur,” warns Dr. Paul Offit, a pediatrician who was in recent days blocked from participating in the FDA’s Vaccines and Related Biological Products Advisory Committee. Florida must restore its vaccine mandates before more kids get sick and die.
