HUD Secretary Ben Carson who, somehow, is an actual doctor and member of Donald Trump's coronavirus taskforce has responded to the pandemic by telling people to go about their normal routines if they're healthy.
This is not only NOT what the CDC and medical professionals are recommending — it's dangerous. The Hippocratic oath, rule number one, "FIRST DO NO HARM." And that is precisely what Ben Carson is doing to an entire nation.
We know that it can take up to two weeks for symptoms to appear. And so an otherwise visibly "healthy" person would still be completely capable of transmission to a countless number of people if they were to take Carson's advice.
Carson was pressed further, asked if he had any advice at all for the American public, and all he could muster was to wait for recommendations from the CDC. Not avoid large crowds, especially if you're older high risk. Not wash your hands. Not don't touch your face. Not avoid unnecessary contact. Nothing.
Like everyone else in the White House, it's clear that the priority is not saving lives but concealing the truth to save Trump's presidency — even if it costs innocent lives.
This is unacceptable. Add your name to demand Ben Carson be fired immediately from HUD and the coronavirus taskforce before he gets people killed!
