The bravest raccoon in the world spent yesterday
scaling the tallest skyscraper in St. Paul Minnesota. The little lady gained so much popularity that she began trending on Twitter as the #MPRraccoon on her way up the bulding — and even got her own Twitter account!
Let's ask the UBS building that she conquered to honor her with a plaque!
She had already been captured on a different skyscraper's roof and then released by animal control into the city, when she promptly found the tallest building in the city and began climbing. The only problem was that this building had no balconies or open windows. The raccoon seemed to have regretted her choice when she couldn't get down, while people in the building and on the internet watched with anticipation, rooting for her.
From there, watchers brainstormed ways to help her. A drone? A hot air balloon? How could they be sure this sweet animal survived her trek? But the adorable critter knew what to do, choosing to stop for a nap and some grooming on a window sill on the 23rd floor. Finally, at 2:30 AM with thousands of online followers, our friend scurried up onto the top of the building where she got a nice meal of cat food.
Our raccoon hero will be released into the wild unharmed, but her journey is nothing short of a miracle. Will you join me in asking the UBS building to honor her with a plaque?
