We must take Trump's threats of election meddling seriously. Right now, he's preparing to send masked agents to the polls, close polling places early, and refuse to count votes.
We know that if we let him steal the election, all the guardrails will come off, he will double down on authoritarian repression without any fear of democratic consequences. This could devastate our shot at winning a Green New Deal to stop climate change.
That's why we're launching Operation: Stop a Coup. Between now and election day, we're throwing down to train up local leaders and prepare young people to travel to key locations, ready to counter Trump's plans to steal the midterms.
We know we can do all of this because Sunrise has done it before, in Minnesota, we took action that controlled the narrative, disrupted ICE's operations, and built the public pressure that made Trump back off his occupation. That's the model and that's what's coming for what's left of his regime.
