This election has left many advocates for our environment in dismay. Donald Trump spent his presidential campaign perpetuating falsehoods and attacking environmental protections. Even before he is sworn in as President he is making good on his promise to rollback our environmental progress by appointing an adamant climate denier to oversee his Environmental Protection Agency transition.
A dismantled EPA would have real effects right here in Washington state. Without federal funding and oversite, projects to oversee restoration of Puget Sound and restore salmon runs to the Columbia River would be drastically cut. The decades long process to clean up the Hanford nuclear site would lose critical assistance. Regulating toxics from local polluters would be left solely to overburdened state agencies.
Now more than ever we need to stand together against those that want to strip away the progress we’ve made.
We know climate change isn't a hoax. Washington state sees the effects of a warming world every day. Tell President-elect Trump you stand for clean air, clean water, and an EPA that can do its job.
