Congress: Make Room for Sexual Health!

Since the Real Education for Healthy Youth Act was introduced to Congress in 2011:
-Young people have contracted more than 9 million new STIs.
-Over 750,000 teenagers became pregnant.
-Eighty percent of LGBT students reported being harassed.
The Real Education for Healthy Youth Act can steer America toward sexual health in 2013. Tell Congress to pass this legislation now.
Sexual safety is more complex than condoms and abstinence. The Real Education for Healthy Youth Act will inform and positively influence students who want to learn about sexual health, but often have nowhere to turn besides a google search and hushed conversations with their peers.
LGBTQ bullying, dating violence, and stigmatization are very real challenges that students face every day. We have an obligation to participate in open, frank, and progressive discussions about sexual health with them.
Stop making sex ed the elephant in the room. Ask Congress to pass the Real Education for Healthy Youth Act!
Dear Member of Congress,
Sixty three percent of young people have sex before they graduate high school. Without the Real Education for Healthy Youth Act, this sixty three percent often contracts STIs, experiences unplanned pregnancies, or endures psychologically traumatizing sexual harassment.
Senators drafted the Real Education for Healthy Youth Act, but until Congress passes it, this bill isn't giving any student the right to sexual health. Eight out of ten LGBTQ students report being harassed during their teenage years. This country has seen millions of STIs and hundreds of thousands of teen pregnancies, and the government still allots millions for abstinence-based programs but won't fund the Real Education for Healthy Youth Act.
