We call for the firing of 'Conservation' Officer Eric Wiebe who ordered the killing of a young mountain lion rather than humane tranquilizing/relocating of the sleeping animal.
We call for the firing of Conservation Officer Eric Wiebe who gave that order to kill instead of tranquilize and relocate this unfortunate young male mountain lion, a species once so prolific in Nebraska, now dwindling due to human encroachment of its territory. We hold that there is NO excuse any longer to kill a wild creature rather than preserve its life and safety while there are now inexpensive means to do so.
NONE. It is the "easy way out" and cheaper to fire a bullet than to trank and relocate.
But it is abuse of this marvelous necessary cat, and cowardly as well, to kill a sleeping inoffensive animal so high on the foodchain and so regal.
We call for the FIRING of this irresponsible individual who gave the order to kill, and for a reformation of policies in Nebraska and EVERY state to use kindness and compassion when dealing with our animal counterparts.
We wont let this drop.
