It’s Time For Full Non-Discrimination Protections For Transgender Bay Staters

Denied service in a restaurant for being transgender? Kicked out of a hotel simply because of who you are?

In Massachusetts, state law currently provides non-discrimination protections for sexual orientation and gender identity in employment and housing, but does not extend to transgender people in public accommodations.

That means there are no explicit protections for transgender people in the places everyone is when they're not at home, work or school—such as malls and restaurants, parks and government offices.

It's beyond time to update the law and right this wrong!

Add your name today to call on the Massachusetts legislature to update our state's non-discrimination laws immediately to reflects the Massachusetts values of fairness and respect and help position our state to continue its economic successes and growth well into the future.
As a Massachusetts resident, I strongly support protecting all people -- including transgender Bay Staters -- from all forms of discrimination.

I urge the legislature to update our state's non-discrimination laws immediately. This update reflects the Massachusetts values of fairness and respect and will help position our state to continue its economic successes and growth well into the future.
