Call on the California State Assembly to pass AB 650, the Healthcare Worker Recognition and Retention Act

Healthcare workers have been on the frontlines of the COVID-19 pandemic from the very beginning, continually showing up to care for patients despite insufficient protective equipment, staffing shortages, long hours, mental trauma, and the ever-present risk of infection.

Even before the pandemic, California faced a serious shortage of healthcare workers; now, we face a potential catastrophe as the toll of the pandemic is forcing many to consider leaving the field altogether.

We need to call on the California State Assembly to pass AB 650 (Muratsuchi), the Healthcare Worker Recognition and Retention Act, to recognize the outstanding efforts and sacrifices our healthcare workers have made, and to improve the retention of our healthcare workforce.
