102 elephants are suffering and need your help

Help end the cruel cycle of elephants being forced to give tourists rides in Amer Fort, India. Sadly, 19 are blind, 10 have tuberculosis, and all 102 elephants are suffering.

Stolen from their mothers at a young age, these elephants are forced through a horrific training process known as "the crush." This deplorable practice involves cramming an elephant into a small cage, binding its limbs, depriving the elephant of food and water, and repeatedly beating and shouting at the captured baby elephant for days to weeks.

Once the elephant's captor has broken its spirit, the elephant is put to work. These elephants are often controlled with bull hooks which cause wounds and scarring and are forced to carry heavy seats for tourists to sit on, resulting in injuries and severe muscle strain.

These innocent gentle giants are forced to do this hour after hour, day after day, for years and years. And when they are not giving tourist rides, these elephants are cruelly chained, unable to socialise, graze or move freely, which causes them great stress and painful foot problems.

Elephants need to be free to just be elephants. They are wildlife — not entertainers. Sign the petition today to tell the Government of Rajasthan that there is no pride in elephant rides and to save the 102 Amer Fort elephants now.
