Save Michele our Lollipop lady - Busy Road - Save Lives

Michele has been standing at the corner of Brunton Lane/Fawdon Walk for last 15 years in all weathers to make sure our children get to and from Kingston Park Primary School safely.

It is a hazardous corner and you are unable to see the cars coming, until they speed around at an alarming rate, ignoring the clear slow down notices. The bushes on the other side of the road obscure your vision so that you can't see traffic coming from any direction.

Even with her bright yellow jacket over the years Michele has had a few near misses, so what are parents meant to do to keep the children safe, especially with the coming dark nights?

Without Michele that road is an accident waiting to happen.

To Newcastle City Council

Please reverse your decision to get rid of Michele. I assume the decision was made in response to overall budget cuts from central Government. Please challenge these cuts and tell the Government that cuts are not acceptable. Lollipop people are a much needed role in our society and necessary for the safety of our children. Without them, accidents will increase and people may die.
