The UK's National Wildlife Crime Unit (NWCU) fights organised criminal gangs exploiting wildlife and driving species like lions and elephants to the brink of extinction. They bring wildlife criminals to justice.
The NWCU is the UK's best tool for preventing the illegal trade of animal parts, such as lion heads, elephant ivory and rare bird eggs. It is also key to protecting the UK's much-loved wildlife, like bats and falcons.
The NWCU has limited Government funding until March 2020. If no further money is made available it will be forced to close. We only have a few months to make a difference for some of the world's most endangered species. We cannot allow our first line of defence against wildlife crime to become extinct.
