Canada is one of the largest emitters of climate-torching greenhouse gases in the world. To make matters worse, since stepping into office, the Ford government has recklessly slashed environmental protections.

At this moment, climate scientists from around the world are raising the alarm that governments must take immediate and ambitious action if we are to curb catastrophic climate change. Here in Ontario, the Ford government is doing the exact opposite and actually throwing climate action in our province in reverse.

That's why Sophia, Zoe, Shaelyn, and four other courageous young Ontarians are taking Ford to court.

They say Ontario's recently weakened climate targets will lead to widespread illness and death, violating Ontarians' Charter-protected rights to life, liberty, and security of the person.

To defend their futures — and yours — in the face of the climate emergency, they say they have no choice but to sue their own premier.

Sophia, Zoe, Shaelyn are part of Generation Climate Action (#GenClimateAction), the global wave of young people who are taking to the streets and the courts to demand climate action now. We have a moral obligation to stand with them.
